Green Flag Award Knowledge Day

The Congress will span five days of speakers and presentations, delivered from five different time zones. The Green Flag Award themed Knowledge Day itself will take place on Thursday 9th December, between 9:00am - 5:00pm (UK-GMT)

The concept of the Knowledge Day is built around the sharing of best practice within the parks sector, and will be closely linked to two Green Flag Award initiatives: The Resources Hub and the Research Portal.

Resources Hub

The Resources Hub was launched at the 2020 World Parks Congress. It was developed to provide a library of free, high-quality sector knowledge - curated from all over the world. Resources are provided by a range of partners, who support our commitment to sharing best practice. So far this platform has seen over 1,000 unique downloads from over 50 different resources and more than 20 contributing partners from around the world.

Research Portal

Following on from that success, and in partnership with the Universities of Leeds and Sheffield - during the congress Green Flag Award will be launching the next stage of knowledge exchange - The Parks and Green Spaces Research Portal. The Portal will be a free platform to explore the latest park-related research findings, events and collaboration opportunities from academic and research organisations across the globe.

Green Flag Award criteria

The schedule for the day is is organised under the Green Flag Award criteria, with speakers covering topics that align with the eight key headings.

Talks include:
