Green Space Business Award

The Green Space Business Award® is a project developed by the DS Smith and Keep Britain Tidy and we believe it will become an exciting and highly sought after accreditation.

The Award encourages businesses to take more responsibility within their local community, by supporting and building relationships with community groups, and in doing so, helping to improve the environmental standards in nearby recreational green areas.

Our First Award Winners

Two exceptional DS Smith sites were the first to accept the awards at the Green Flag Awards ceremonies 2017. Bolton Recycling received their award for their continuous hard work with Friends of Longsight Park community group, combining their commitment and efforts to develop and maintain the local Longsight Park, since the launch of the partnership two years ago.

DS Smith Crumlin Packaging received their award having transformed their site by laying a pathway through a wooded area and installing a bench and table.  This enabled their employees to enjoy the scenic route to their staff car park and have somewhere to enjoy the outdoors, nature and fresh air during working hours.  The new furniture has also been used to hold meetings on fine days. 
As well as the pathway and new outdoor furniture, Crumlin have developed an allotment, where dedicated employees with green fingers can grow their own produce. 

The Award lasts for 12month and must be renewed each year
