Roma Street Parklands

Roma Street Parkland is one of Brisbane’s premier parklands and considered to be one of the two best contemporary display gardens in Australia. Opened in April 2001, the parkland attracts in the region of 2 million visitors per annum.
Encompassing the area that was once Brisbane’s main rail and goods yard, a flower and produce market and the historic Albert Park, Roma Street Parkland’s 16ha garden only a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Brisbane.
The parkland provides visitors with an urban subtropical experience and is a mixture of large open spaces, lush subtropical planting and historic landscapes creating. It is this horticultural experience that distinguishes Roma Street Parkland from other parks and gardens in the city and indeed the world; showcasing unique subtropical vegetation in comparative displays with other species from around the world. Highlights include;
The Rainforest showcasing the diverse landscape of Queensland’s subtropical rainforest - taking visitors from the coast to the mountains
Celebration Lawn, Brisbane’s best lawn and location of many community cultural celebrations
The Children’s Garden an interactive garden designed for children to learn, explore and discover nature through play
The Spectacle Garden in Colin Campbell Place – a spectacular garden and the horticultural centrepiece of the parkland providing an ever-changing seasonal display.
